A young girl and her non-profit organization has donated a neat little gift to the City of Chillicothe.

Corrine, 16, and a non-profit group she started when she was 12 donated “tackle tubes” to the city to place around Yocktangee Park. The tubes are used for those fishing to conveniently throw away their discarded fishing line, hooks, and tackle.

While tubes were previously placed around the city park by the group, Parks and Recreation employees say that a duck was entangled in fishing line recently, and that they are hopeful the added tubes will help people understand that wildlife is at stake if people do not properly discard their used fishing equipment.
