Two people are dead after a pursuit started in Adams County and ended at a Pike County gas station.

It all started about 7 a.m. Friday in Seaman, Ohio at a Marathon gas station near the intersection of Ohio State Route 247 and Ohio State Route 32.

The suspect led investigators on a chase that eventually led to the suspect crashing on Route 32 past Piketon. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office confirms the suspect is dead. “Adam County Sheriffs Office advised their office was currently in pursuit of a green Ford ranger traveling eastbound on US 32 entering Pike County….,” a statement by Pike County Sheriff’s office reads. “Pike County Sheriff’s deputies entered the pursuit along with multiple other law-enforcement agencies.”

Following the robbery, North Adams High and Elementary schools and Peebles High and Elementary schools went on lockdown.
