The Chillicothe woman who was shot while driving last week was apparently a victim of a jealous ex-husband.
According to investigators, James Joseph Kendrick killed himself after he opened fire on his estranged ex-wife, 62-year-old Linda Fallis last Monday.
Fallis was driving her car on Bridge Street when witnesses say someone in a passing car shot her four times before speeding away in another car. The central Ohio lawyer was rushed to Adena Medical Center and police scoured the area looking for clues. The Guardian was the first to release the 9-1-1 call.
Nearby security camera footage showed a dark colored car, which Fallis recognized as her ex-husband. Police executed a search warrant on Kendrick’s home, but he was found dead by suicide a short time later.
Police are continuing to investigate but believe the case will soon be closed.
