A local hospital in Fayette County reportedly went on lockdown Tuesday evening after an active shooter threat, according to social media posts.
It has been reported by multiple employees that Fayette County Memorial Hospital went into an active lockdown after the threat was received by a man that he was going to shoot up the emergency room.
“Fayette County Memorial Hospital was put on lockdown for a very brief time upon advisement of the Washington Court House Police Department,” said hospital spokeswoman Whitney Gentry.
One employee posted on Facebook that someone called and warned other employees, which prompted the lockdown.
Another person posted that his wife was locked in the operating room out of precaution.
No injuries were reported. It’s unknown by the Guardian who the man was or how the threat was made. Gentry said the lock down lasted less than ten minutes.
Police officers were seen on the campus near the front door of the building Tuesday night after the threat.
The police department is not releasing any information at this time.
