Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol said they arrested a corrections officer on Monday after he was found with illegal drugs inside the prison where he worked.
Bradley Danner, 44, was charged with a fifth degree felony of taking drugs into the prison at Chillicothe Correctional Institute. Patrol members say the man was found with unknown drugs, believed to be pills, inside his pocket during a search by another employee.
Details about why the man had the drugs or if he was giving them to inmates was not immediately released by officials.
Danner was taken to the Ross County Jail, where is set to appear for an arraignment Tuesday morning in Chillicothe Municipal Court.
In a bizarre turn of events, the other employee who found the drugs on Danner died a couple hours later at the prison from unknown reasons. Officials could not say if the man’s death was connected to the drugs.
This shit goes on every day in there. They thought taking the farms and outside work away from the inmates would solve that problem, however it’s been the guards who bring that shit in. Don’t get me wrong sure the inmates manage to get shit thrown over, but the majority of the drugs and tobacco come in through the guards. Multi million dollar business. Hell just one cigarette can go for 20 bucks. Yes that is first hand knowledge.
