Washington Court House City Schools and all sporting events are closed the rest of the week after a flu epidemic sweeps the state.
The district is closed entirely for January 30 and 31. The district will resume on Monday, February 3. All school activities, such as sporting events and club activities are cancelled.
“Unfortunately, the state of Ohio is in a heavy flu-like pattern,” said Tom Bailey, superintendent. “I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but I did not take this decision lightly. “
Bailey said students are encouraged to read while home over the weekend.
When school resumes on Monday, Bailey said that if your child is still sick or having any symptoms of strep throat or the flu, they should continue to stay home.
Families are encouraged to disinfect books, bags, and all items the student may take to school before returning.
