It happened in the area of route 35 and County Road 550.
Jason Matson, 40, was on a work detail and ran off. He was serving a sentence for theft out of Chillicothe Municipal Court.
The Sheriff’s office had a perimeter established and a helicopter was requested.
The Ohio Highway Patrol and the Chillicothe Police Department assisted with K-9 units and a helicopter.
