Obituary
John L. Welkener 81 of Lebanon passed from this life 10:29 am Monday, November 30, 2020 at Carecore at Lima. He was born July 4, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late John A. and Marie C. (Lemand) Welkener. On December 10, 1961 he married his wife of 58 years Irene (Weller) Welkener, who survives.
John is also survived by their two children Michele Welkener and John (Terri) Welkener, Jr.; granddaughter Katelyn Welkener; sisters Jean Walker, Elaine Ransom and Carol (Junior) Halbert; brother Leonard (Cinda) Welkener and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by two sisters Shirley Halbman and Arlene Hubbard.
John was an Air Force Veteran of Vietnam War; a 32-degree Mason and member of the American Legion. John also attend the Otterbein Lebanon United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held 1 pm Friday, December 4, 2020 in the Bainbridge Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face coverings will be required, and social distancing should be maintained.
