The man wanted for murdering another was arrested Thursday in Adams County.
Thomas Wyatt Pooler, 25, was on the run from law enforcement for nearly a week.
An Adams County Sheriff spokesman confirmed to the Guardian that Pooler was arrested by deputies and Peebles Police on Thursday.
Deputies and Peebles Police were at a home on Portsmouth Road looking for someone else when they found Pooler at the residence. He was promptly arrested and held until Ross County deputies picked him up Thursday afternoon.
Pooler is accused of shooting a man multiple times Saturday in Ross County.
Deputies and medics responded to Third Street in Bainbridge early Saturday at around 5 a.m. on reports of a person shot. When they arrived, the victim, Rocky Williams, 36, was bleeding out from numerous gunshot wounds. Investigators quickly identified Pooler as a suspect, who fled the area. Williams was taken to Adena-Greenfield, where he died.
A GoFundMe has been created by the victim’s sister to help cover funeral expenses.
