Obituary

James Dale Leath of Washington CH went home to be with his Lord on Christmas Day, following an extended illness.

James was born on June 2, 1950 in Washington CH to the late Carl and Margaret (Boisel) Leath. After attending Washington Senior High School, Jim Entered the US Army where he served two tours of duty with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. Following his military service, he started a career with PPG in Circleville. He served as president of their local union for over 20 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion post 25. Jim was a lifetime member of the Fayette County Anglers Club. He was also an avid firearms enthusiast. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors, but nothing compared to time he spent with family, especially his grandkids.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter Angela Sue Leath, a granddaughter Kinsley Sue Leath-Brown and two stepbrothers, Earl and Richard Monroe.

Survivors include his wife, the former Rosemary Gray, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage and his daughters Kelli (Keith) Brown and Kaitlyn Leath (Evan Tyree). Kaitlyn was the daughter of Angela, whom Jim and Rosemary adopted following her death. Jim also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kaden James, and Kyler Andrew Leath-Brown and Kendal Carson and Raegan James Tyree and a stepsister, Rita Mason; as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends including his loving feline companion, Ozzy.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 1pm in the Washington Cemetery with Pastor Carey Hilterbran officiating. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
