Obituary

Helen Louise Bethel entered her heavenly home on December 28, 2020 at the age of 90.

Helen was born in Ross County Ohio to the late Manford and Cora (Hamilton) Cooper. She was a graduate of Twin Township High School. She had attended the Church of Christ In Christian Union in New Holland. She enjoyed flowers and birds. She was a very selfless and giving person and had dedicated countless hours volunteering to help the less fortunate. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to her yearly trip with her son to see her two grandkids in Oklahoma.

Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Gary Cooper, her sisters, Edna Carroll, Mary Mutter, Isabelle Walls and Emma Shomaker and her brothers Ed, Wilbur, George and Richard Cooper.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Larry) Root of New Holland and Carlon (Joan) Bethel of Greenfield; grandchildren, Larry, Jr. (Jennifer) Root, Rusty (Amy) Root, Cecil (Shatara) Bethel and Jan Bethel; great grandchildren, Mason and Caitlyn Root and Cale and Karlee Bethel; and, one great great grandchild, Alexis Root. She also leaves a sister-in-law Phyllis Cooper and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A graveside service is planned for Saturday, January 2nd at 2:15pm in the New Holland Cemetery with Rev. Sammie Cooper officiating. Roberts Funeral Home is caring for the family.
