CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Officers arrested two people in Circleville on Tuesday after parole officers were conducting a check, which resulted in a foot chase.
At around 1 p.m., parole officers notified local police that they were in a foot pursuit with a man and woman near Renick Avenue. Multiple Circleville officers swarmed the area, reports say.
Krista Giffin and Tyler Young continued to run down Eva Drive, where the local officers caught up with them. Giffin was taken into custody on John Street, officers said, while Young was able to escape. He was found a short time later by the playground area at the rear of 590 East Ohio Street.
Young tossed a kitchen knife he was carrying, officers said, but it was quickly recovered as evidence. He was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and local charges of obstructing official business. Giffin was arrested on a local charge of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia. A small baggie of suspected fentanyl was recovered in a backpack possessed by the two, officers said, and it will be sent off for testing. More charges are likely, according to police.
