PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — As heavy rain from thunderstorms continue to fall around the area, street flooding is being reported around Portsmouth.

The Portsmouth Police Department has issued the following statement:

“City service is out working as fast as they can to get the water out of the streets. Please use caution when driving on flooded roads. If unsure, turn around and find an alternate route.”

The Ohio Highway Patrol reported that 16th Street near the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, Court Street, and Grandview Avenue are the most impacted area.
