Richard J. Crossen was born June 13, 1932 passed away at age 87, on May 28, 2020.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Julie A. Crossen, stepchildren; Kevin (Debra) Soncrant, Marcy (Robert) O’Shea, Tracy Venia, John (Christy) Soncrant, and Jason (Donna) Soncrant, eight grandchildren and three great grandsons. Preceded in death by his parents Isarel Crossen and Bernice Murphy, brother Robert Crossen and sister Mary Crossen.
Richard was born in Columbus, OH and graduated the Ohio School for Deaf in 1952. He was very active in the deaf community being member of Holy Cross Deaf Lutheran Church, Ohio School of Deaf Alumni Association for 30 years, which he served on the board as Vice President for 20 years. Richard had such a bright presence and always lit up the room with his enormous smile. He was the perfect gentlemen with the best manners.
You could always count on him cheering on the OSU Buckeyes as he was a dedicated fan. He loved to spend time with his wife by traveling or skiing, it was always an adventure with Richard.
Entrusted arrangements by the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL with a Memorial service to celebrate Richard Crossen’s life will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 4PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of the Deaf.
