PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A woman died Wednesday morning in a house trailer fire in Circleville.
It happened along Renick Avenue just after 3 a.m.
Crews arrived to find the entire backside of the trailer engulfed in flames.
John Ellis, the county coroner confirmed to the Guardian that one person perished in the fire.
“A little old lady passed away,” he said at the scene. “They don’t know what caused [the fire yet].” The woman’s name was not immediately released.

“I woke up at 2:30 a.m. and could smell it. I thought someone had a small fire pit going,” a neighbor told the Guardian. “Then, about an hour later, we seen all this (the fire trucks).”
Firefighters were not able to immediately release the cause of the fire or how it broke out. A state fire marshal was summonsed to the scene to investigate.
Multiple departments worked to battle the blaze, including Circleville City, Clearcreek Township, Harrison Township, and Pickaway Township.
