Mallard Tackett, 73, of Beaver, Ohio passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home. He was born June 1, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late Sid Tackett Sr. and Ethel Mae Bentley Tackett. On December 11, 1987 he was united in marriage to Linda Adams Tackett who survives. Also surviving are four sons; Marvin (Kayla) Tackett of Beaver, Tim (Kristy) Tackett of Irvine, Kentucky, Steve (Danielle) Stutz of Waverly and Isaac (Sharon) Adams of Waverly; daughter, Chasity (Richard) Blakeslee of Chillicothe; twelve grandchildren, Quentin Boggs, Makayla Stutz, Taylor Boggs, Braydon Stutz, Brooklyn Adams, Brock Adams, Chayse Blaum, Michael Tackett, Cody Day, Madison Tackett, Cody Means and Caleb Means; great grandson, Arrow Stutz; brothers, Sam Tackett, Sid Tackett Jr. and Eugene Tackett; sisters, Bessie Kingery, Margaret Rigsby, Reva Mills and Belinda Burton along with many nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mallard was preceded in death by brothers, Henry Tackett, Daniel Tackett, Johnny Tackett, Bud Tackett and Fetty Tackett sisters, Elsie Tackett, Trilla Anderson, Ethel Mae and Debbie Osborne, and stepmother, Mary Jo Damron Tackett.
Mallard retired from Thompson Consumer Electronics (RCA), served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a life-long member of the Pike County DAV.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Kyle Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
