Michael “Mike” Ray Beekman, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening June 18, 2021, at his home.  He was born June 15, 1953, in West Union, Ohio, the son of the late Walter H. “Swifty” Beekman and Betty Jean (McAllister) Beekman.  Mike was a 1971 Peebles High School graduate.  Mike was an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter for the village of Sinking Spring for several years.  He worked at Hobart in Hillsboro as a machinist and for General Electric.  Mike earned his aviation maintenance license from Laurel Oaks and became a mechanic for Airborne Express for many years, and he also worked at NAPA Auto Parts in Hillsboro for the past 9 years.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, and he loved traveling with family and friends.  He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.  Mike is survived by his wife, Vicky Beekman, whom he married on August 8, 1980, in Sinking Spring, Ohio; two daughters, Courtney Tomlinson of Bellbrook, Ohio, and Heather (Matt Blanton) Beekman of Columbus, Ohio; a granddaughter, Avery Blanton; a sister, Pam (Charles) Wallingford of Peebles, Ohio; three brothers-in-law, Carl (Jennifer) Lowe of Hillsboro, Gary (Valrie) Lowe of Rainsboro, Scott Skinner of Peebles, and nieces, nephews, and friends.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 23, 2021, at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Celebration of life will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 23rd at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.  Tom Zile will be officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
