FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — Several people were arrested Thursday in Fayette County during a sweeping operation of drugs.

The Sheriff of Fayette County said the operation was conducted in collaboration with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, Washington Court House Police Department, Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office, and the United States Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force.

Several residents around Fayette County took to social media on Thursday to report intense law enforcement movement around the area. Many reported numerous unmarked law enforcement vehicles and SWAT-like tactical movements at homes.

Fayette County Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth said he will hold a press conference Friday afternoon to announce the arrests of several individuals taken into custody on Thursday in the sweep, which has been dubbed “Operation Red, White, & Bust!”
