FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed and another was seriously injured after a house was leveled Saturday morning after an explosion.
It happened in the 1900 block of Good-Hope New Holland Road in Fayette County just before 8 a.m., according to local officials.
Fayette County Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth said that when crews arrived at the scene the house was completely leveled.
“On arrival, emergency personnel located a structure fire and a debris field consistent with an explosion,” the Sheriff told the Guardian.
70-year-old Patricia Miller was found dead among the rubble, the Sheriff said.
Stanforth said Miller’s husband, Ted Miller, 71, was flown to Columbus in serious condition.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately being released, the Sheriff said.
