SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer and the Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announced the conclusion of a major narcotics investigation on Tuesday.
According to Thoroughman, multiple agencies including the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided a home on 8th Street in Portsmouth around 11:30 a.m. today.
Reports state that agents found nearly 100 grams of what appeared to be crack cocaine, a firearm, and close to $4,000 in cash. Agents said that there was additional evidence of drug dealing activities in the residence.
Stanley Abdul Lamar Howard Jr., 41, Bria Gilliland, 36, and Terrence West, 18, all of Portsmouth were taken into custody and charged with possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs, both are felonies of the first degree. Howard Jr. was also charged with having a weapon-under-disability, a third-degree felony.
Chad Haynes, Portsmouth, was also arrested at the scene for an outstanding warrant.
Sheriff Thoroughman said that all suspects were taken to the Scioto County Jail. Howard Jr., Gilliland, and West are scheduled for arraignment at the Portsmouth Municipal Court on Wednesday, July 21 at 9:00 a.m.
