CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe Police responded to the intersection of Fourth Street and Hickory Street Saturday, on reports of a shooting.
According to 9-1-1 dispatch, one person was shot in the incident. Chillicothe Police searched the general area for the victim but was unable to locate him.
Later on, Chillicothe Police went to Adena Regional Medical Center on reports of a person with a gunshot to the leg. The person reportedly self-transported to the hospital, police said.
Police arrived at the hospital and spoke with, Tre Beverly, 29, Chillicothe. The hospital staff told police that Beverly had come to the hospital after being shot in the leg and was becoming combative in the exam room. The hospital staff said Beverly left the hospital against medical advice.
Several officers remained on Hickory Street to process the scene. Reports say that police spoke with several people who said the shooting occurred on the porch of an upstairs apartment above the Rainbow Cleaner Laundry Mat.
Officers searched the area around the apartment for shell casings but did not locate anything, they reported.
Beverly returned to the apartment and told police that he was shot with a .22 caliber revolver. He refused to provide a name to law enforcement, but his mother was able to give the police a name of a person of interest in this case.
