PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — An accident in Pike County has claimed the life of one person. According to troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Wednesday evening around 8 p.m.
James Lee Combs, 61, Piketon, was driving his 2017 Ford Escape along Sugar Run Road when he failed to navigate a right-hand curve.
The vehicle went off the left side of the road, striking a tree, troopers said.
Combs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to authorities. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the crash remains under investigation. No further detail was immediately available.
