Jack Olin Britton, 74, of Chillicothe, died 7:12 p.m. Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was born August 31, 1947, in Ross County, to the late Lester and Mary Clifton Britton. On September 29, 1968 he married the former Carolyn A. Shoemaker, who died January 2, 2016.
Surviving are children, Shelena (Corey) Penrod, Becky Britton, Jack (Kate) Britton and Alisha Harrington; grandchildren, Sara (Codey) Hatfield, Shalyn (boyfriend Zach Wooten) and Jace Penrod, Seth Arledge, Judah, Hadassah, Joseph, Benjamin, Makayla, Rachel and Ellie Britton, Jordan, Charlotte, Jackson, and Jameson Harrington; great-grandchildren, June and Isaac Arledge, and Journey Harfield; a brother, Ronald (Jeanie) Britton; a special sister-in-law, Nancy Britton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, David and James “Jim” Britton; and a sister, Joyce Krezter-Britton.
Jack served in the United States Army as a Sargent in Vietnam. He was a member of the High Street CCCU and a member of V.F.W. Post 108. Jack retired from R.C.A.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
