COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Commerce announced Thursday that the state’s minimum wage would be increasing. 

According to the Department of Commerce, the minimum wage would increase, for non-tipped employees, from $8.80 an hour to $9.30, effective January 1, 2022. 

Those individuals who are tipped employees will see an increase to $4.40 an hour.

State officials said that the increase applies to employees at businesses that gross more than $342,000 per year.

Employers can access the new 2022 minimum wage poster to display in their business by visiting the Ohio Department of Commerce website.
