VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — A Vinton County man faces felonious assault charges after a stabbing incident on October 2.

Vinton County Sheriff Ryan Cain said deputies responded to the area of Turner Road after receiving 9-1-1 calls about a person being stabbed. Reports said deputies arrived on the scene and found a victim with several severe lacerations.

According to Vinton County Prosecutor Jim Payne, Cody Napper, 33, Hamden, allegedly stabbed the individual multiple times in the neck. Napper was arrested at the residence without incident.

The victim, authorities say, was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

Napper remains incarcerated at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

The Prosecutor’s Office says Napper is scheduled for arraignment later this week.
