WILMINGTON, Ohio — The National Weather Services has confirmed that multiple tornadoes touched down across the area early Saturday morning.
The first of a series of tornadoes touched down near Samantha in Highland County. Storm Survey Crews confirmed the tornado Saturday evening.
A second tornado was also reported in Highland County before the storm moved into the Ross County area.
South Salem was the hardest-hit area. Several structures and outbuildings around the small village were damaged. Reports say at least two homes receive catastrophic damage. One child, officials say, was injured by flying glass during an EF0 tornado east of Greenfield.
The residents of South Salem are thankful that there were no fatalities during the powerful EF2 tornado that hit the village earlier today.
Survey crews also confirmed an EF0 tornado near Frankfort in Ross County and an EF1 north of Kingston in Pickaway County.
