CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A high-speed chase ended after a crash in Chillicothe on Tuesday.

It happened at around midnight after a Nissan SUV was attempting to be stopped by Chillicothe Police for not having any lights on. That’s when the driver gave chase.

The pursuit started on Bridge Street at Main Street, before it headed out route 23, going southbound on the state route. It turned around near Trego Creek Road, before getting back off route 23 and back onto South Bridge.

Things started to get dangerous when the car reached speeds of nearly 100 miles-an-hour as it snaked around side streets in Chillicothe. During one point, the SUV ramped a small hill in a yard.

Eventually, the SUV was boxed in by police cruisers in front of Seven Mile Smokehouse on Seventh Street at Bridge Street.

The 19-year-old driver, Allison Lee, Chillicothe, was taken into custody after she tried running from law enforcement. The SUV had dealer plates and was registered to a local car dealership. It wasn’t immediately confirmed by police if the SUV had been reported stolen or why the girl had the car.

The Highway Patrol and Ross County Sheriff assisted in the pursuit.
