ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Two political ornaments that were deemed vulgar have been removed from a county building.

The ornaments were on display in the common lobby of the Ross County Courthouse and were placed there on a holiday tree purchased with tax dollars. The overall display was the product of the county’s Treasurer, Dave Jeffers. Jeffers, 32, and a Republican, spent $433 in tax dollars to purchase the overall display from the local home improvement store, Menards.

When Jeffers setup the display in front of his county office, which shares a common lobby with many other government entities, he adorned the tree with two political ornaments that read, “Let’s Go, Brandon!” that he contends he purchased with his own money.

The saying is a not-so-cryptic insult hurled toward President Joe Biden and stems from a NASCAR race in August, which is code for “F—- Joe Biden.”

The Guardian was the first to tell you about the ornaments on display in the public building and how people on both sides of the political spectrum were upset.

The courthouse, itself, falls under the supervision of the Ross County Commissioners who, on Monday, said they would ask Jeffers to remove the offensive display. Jeffers, on the other hand, told the Guardian he had no intentions on taking down the two ornaments.

However, by Tuesday morning, the two circular political statements were absent from the tree, while Jeffers was absent from the building.
