ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol were involved in a dangerous pursuit Thursday evening.
According to reports, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in Jackson County when the driver took off at more than 110 miles-per-hour.
The chase stretched from Jackson to Chillicothe, with speeds during the pursuit reaching nearly 130 at times. Traffic at the time of the chase was heavy during the evening rush hour, troopers said.
Deputies joined in the chase near route 50 with troopers from the patrol and attempted to set up spike strips near Chillicothe. The vehicles was eventually stopped by law enforcement and the occupants were taken into custody without further incident.
The reason for the fleeing was not immediately released by officials. The case remains under investigation. No names have been released.
