PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – Deputies and railway police are investigating a woman who was killed by a train in Ashville.

The locomotive struck the woman near Main Street and Miller Avenue at around 1 p.m. on Monday.

Deputies at the scene said the situation was under investigation and that railway police were working with them to determine why the woman was on the remote area of tracks

Crews on the scene requested additional assistance including off-road utility vehicles to access the area.

The woman’s name was not released.
