CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The elected county auditor of Pike County is a wanted woman Tuesday after a brawl was caught on camera.
Kayla Slusher has been charged with aggravated trespassing, assault, and criminal mischief. It all stems from a physical fight that happened on Saturday in Ross County.
According to the Sheriff, Slusher went to the home of a woman and picked a fight after learning that an ex-boyfriend was there. During an argument things allegedly advanced when Slusher started throwing punches, the Sheriff report said. She is also accused of damaging the woman’s property. The Guardian was unable to independently confirm the events as alleged by the Sheriff.
Partial video of the attack was caught on video and uploaded to social media.
Messages left with Slusher seeking comment for this story went unreturned. Her staff said she was not in the office Tuesday morning.
Warrants were issued for her arrest on Monday.
First elected in 2018, the 34-year-old became the subject of a state investigation in April. The Guardian obtained public records from the Pike County Court of Common Pleas that outline a criminal probe. In a request for a special prosecutor, it was alleged that Slusher was being investigated for possible misuse of funds. As of Monday, the case was still open and the investigation was pending.
In December, Slusher announced she would not seek re-election this year when her term expired.
