SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Two teens in Scioto County are in hot water after law enforcement officials said they posted threats against a school online.
On Monday, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the mother of a student who reported seeing threats on social media. Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman said the threats were against students at Northwest School.
According to officials, a Snapchat post said, “If you go to Northwest School be safe tomorrow someone is bringing an AR to school.”
After an investigation deputies discovered that the online threat was posted by two juveniles.
The case, Sheriff Thoroughman said, was forwarded to the Juvenile Division of the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges. The teens will appear in the Scioto County Juvenile Court on February 1.
Anyone with additional information regarding this case should contact the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
