WILMINGTON, Ohio — A Flood Warning is in effect for the Scioto River in Pickaway, Pike, and Scioto Counties.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, heavy rain will continue across the Scioto Valley for much of the afternoon on Thursday. Rain combined with melting snow will cause the Scioto River to rise.
Officials say residents in low-lying areas near the river are encouraged to monitor conditions and prepare themselves to evacuate if needed.
Forecasters say the Scioto will continue to rise through the day before cresting late Friday.
