VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Multiple law enforcement agencies and rescue dive teams were at a lake in Vinton County on Tuesday. In addition, a crime scene had been roped off a few miles down the road.
It happened at Lake Rupert along route 683 outside of Hamden and Frazee Lane outside of McArthur. The two scenes were connected to a homicide, the Guardian has learned.
The county Sheriff was on the scene at the lake, along with the highway patrol, ODNR, and multiple dive teams from three fire departments. About five miles down the road was a second crime scene on Frazee Lane. The state’s BCI crime unit was there along the road and had the area roped off. The Guardian was told that at least one person was shot and killed at the property. Their name has not been released.

How the lake is connected to the situation has not been released, but boats and divers were launched into the water in an apparent search while detectives scour the property on Frazee Lane.
The scenes started at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
No other information has been released.
