CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Medics, along with officers from the Chillicothe Police Department, responded to the 300 block of McKellar Street early Friday morning.
According to reports, officers responded to the residence on reports of a stabbing shortly after 4 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a person suffering from a stab wound to the stomach.
Police say an altercation had happened at the residence between a woman and the suspect, identified as Ronald Woolum. The victim in the incident told police he stepped in between Woolum and the woman. It was at the point, reports read, Woolum pulled a knife stabbing the victim in the stomach.
After the assault, the victim told police that his assailant fled the scene.
Authorities say a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
The case remains under investigation.
