MCARTHUR, Ohio — A deputy in Vinton County called for backup early Monday morning.
It happened just after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Hagerty Road and Bolar Road.
The Sheriff’s office was dispatched to a reported shooting inside a house with the gunman still outside. When the deputy arrived he detained two males, but the alleged gunman fled the area.
A trooper from the Chillicothe Post of the Highway Patrol responded to help the deputy, who had the two men detained for twenty minutes until backup arrived.
No bullet holes were found inside the house to substantiate the initial call.
The alleged gunman is known to law enforcement.
Witness statements were taken and the public is not believed to be in danger.
