WILMINGTON, Ohio — The threat of severe weather returns to the Scioto Valley Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service encourages residents to have multiple ways to receive warnings and not to rely solely on outdoor warning sirens.

A spokesperson for the NWS said, “Now is the time to be prepared for severe storms. Damaging winds and some tornadic activity will be possible. “

Meteorologists say storms are likely to begin firing across the southern Ohio area between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

Recent forecast models show a squall line of strong to severe storms barreling across the area overnight.
