ROSS COUNTY, Ohio— A corrections officer at the Ross Correctional Institution in Chillicothe faces the possibility of life in prison after authorities said he sexually abused a child over a period of several years.
Brian C. Adeva was indicted by a Ross County grand jury in March on 4 counts of gross sexual imposition and 5 counts of rape involving a child under the age of 13.
According to court records obtained by the Guardian, allegations against the corrections officer date back as far as 2016.

A spokesperson for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections said Adeva was placed on unpaid administrative leave on March 22 pending the outcome of his case.
He remains free today on a $50,000 bond. As part of his release, officials say, he is barred from contact with any minors.
