COLUMBUS, Ohio— According to state officials, more new businesses have opened in the Buckeye State despite rising inflation and supply chain issues.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose said that nearly 20,000 new business filings occurred in March. This is up 33% from February.
“The hard work and pragmatism of Ohio’s entrepreneurs is on display each month as they courageously create prosperity through free market capitalism, even in the face of challenges with inflation, workforce, supply chain and a global pandemic,” said LaRose. “As new businesses continue to launch in the state, we are working to support them to ensure their ongoing success.”
As new businesses open in Ohio the need for qualified employee’s has likewise increased. According to the United States Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Ohio’s unemployment rate continues to fall nearing a 20 year low at 4.1%.
