CHILLICOTHE, Ohio— Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery of the PNC Bank in Chillicothe.
According to the Chillicothe Police Department, around 11:38am yesterday afternoon, a teller at the PNC Bank was handed a note demanding money.
Police saythe teller, at the time, handed the robbernearly $800 in cash.
Officers along with detectives rushed to the bank.
The suspect, described as a heavy-set white male, wearing all black with a black toboggan, black gloves, and a surgical mask.
Witnesses said the man had “red lips” tattooed on the right side of his neck.
Officers searched the immediate area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Officials said, later in the day, the Fairfield County Sherriff’s Office and Zanesville Police Department contacted the Chillicothe Police Department saying they were also investigating a similar Bank Robbery case.
Reports say, after comparing investigations Chillicothe Police Detectives were able to identify the Chillicothe PNC Bank Robbery suspect.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the suspect leaving an apartment in Lancaster. He was taken into custody a short time later.
The suspects were identified as Travis Mettler 23 years old, Lancaster, and James Jones 28 years old, Lancaster.
Detectives say Travis admitted to the robbery of the PNC in Chillicothe as well as another bank in Newark, OH and Canal Winchester, OH.
James admitted to aiding and conspiring with Travis to rob the bank in Chillicothe, OH
Both were arrested and are being held in Fairfield County Jail.
