NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The 76-year-old half of the legendary country duo, “The Judds,” has died.
The singer died, according to her daughter, actress Ashley Judd as a result of her mental health.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory,” said Ashley Judd.
Embed from Getty ImagesIn the early 1980s, Naomi and her daughter Wynonna began a “Hall of Fame” career. The mother and daughter duo brought home over a dozen number one songs and multiple Grammy’s. Their biggest hits included: “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Grandpa, Tell Me About The Good Old Days,” and “Love Can Build a Bridge.”
Naomi has also appeared in over a dozen movies and television shows.
At the time of publication, no further details about the singer’s death, had been released.
