Geraldine M. “Cookie” Bell, 84, of Kingston, passed from this life on Saturday May 14, 2022 in Grant Medical Center, Columbus. She was born May 10, 1938 in Ross County to the late Elmer E. and Bessie Mae (Strawser) Fink. She married James R. Bell, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1996.
Surviving is her daughter; Sally (Johnny) Hill, Whistler, OH, step-sons; James Bell, Columbus, and Jeffrey (Sheila) Bell, Sunbury, OH, grandchildren; Tony, James, Greg, Kevin, Braden, and James Kelly, great-grandchildren; Layla and Donovan, brothers; Francis “Pete” Kutschbach, and Richard “Dick” Kutschbach, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her step-daughter; Peggy Hatton, and sisters; Mary Katherine Damico, Dorothy Halasz, and Frances Hougland.
Cookie was the Site Manager for Kingston branch of the Ross County Senior Citizen Center. She was an avid volunteer for organizations such as, the V.A., AMVETS, and the American Legion, helping with their fish fries, bingo, and the Special Olympics. Cookie had defied the odds through illness and injuries to live an independent life.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Ohio Center of Independent Living, S. 418 Broad St., Lancaster, OH 43130, or to a charity of choice.
