PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A Mt. Sterling man is in jail today after the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office said suspected drugs and a loaded gun were found following a traffic stop.

According to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey, Steven T. Nott was stopped after dispatchers received a phone call of a driver swerving across route 23 near South Bloomfield.

Hafey said deputies responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop on Nott. Officials say Steven Nott first provided false information. Following a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies found suspected methamphetamine, a loaded handgun, and other drug paraphernalia.

Nott was arrested at the scene and charged with possession, trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, and weapons under disability.

He was transported to the Pickaway County Jail, where officials say he remains in custody.
