PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — President Joe Biden made a rare prime-time address Thursday evening, giving a fiery rebuke of MAGA Republicans and his predecessor, former President Donald J. Trump. “Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very Republic,” said Biden.
Controversial conservative representative Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter, saying, “I have not seen you denounce the politically motivated crimes against me that you and your henchmen have caused with your vile, disgusting lies.”
The President’s speech, titled “Soul of a Nation,” called for unity amongst constituents while warning of the dangers of extremism and conspiracy theories. Biden would go on to call MAGA conservatives a “danger to democracy.”
Political commentators called tonight’s address from the city of Philadelphia, a mid-term election rallying cry.
On the right, Republicans, and supporters of the former President expressed their displeasure and anger over the recent FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. The raid revealed that Trump was in possession of classified and top-secret documents.
Earlier this week on FOX News, Republican Senator Lindsay Graham said, “If there is a prosecution of Donald Trump, there will be riots in the streets.”
