WAVERLY, Ohio — Drugs and guns were seized following a traffic stop in Waverly.
According to the Waverly Police Department, officers were called to the Ameristay Hotel on the evening of November 17, 2022, on reports of two people in a white automobile using drugs.
After arriving on the scene, officers detained two individuals and searched the car for evidence.
A loaded high-point pistol and several boxes of ammunition were found, including a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Police say the suspected narcotics were stashed away in a magnetically hidden compartment in the trunk. A large quantity of marijuana and Xanax pills were also discovered by the police.
The names of the suspects were not released to the media by law enforcement. Officials say the case will be presented at the next grand jury session.
