CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Ross County man will appear in court this week, faced with multiple charges in connection to the grisly discovery of a missing Chillicothe man’s body.

Brad L. Lanman was indicted last month on multiple charges related to the death of Larry Davis Jr.
Davis, who was reported missing in March of 2022, was found deceased in July of last year. His decomposed remains were located inside a plastic tote at a residence on Poplar Street in Chillicothe.
The discovery came after detectives executed an earlier search warrant on the property. During which, sources said at the time, items belonging to Davis were located.
The search for the missing Chillicothe man involved multiple agencies including, the Ohio Highway Patrol, Ross County Sheriff’s Office, and Chillicothe Police Department.

Lanman faces abuse of a corpse, failure to report a death, tampering with evidence, and other complicity charges.
He remains in custody at the Ross County Jail.
Also indicted in this case was Shelly K. McGuire, of Chillicothe. McGuire, sources close to the victim’s family said, was in a relationship with Lanman. She also faces charges of tampering with evidence, attempted abuse of a corpse, and failure to report a death.
