AKRON, Ohio — Authorities are currently on the scene at the John F. Seiberling Federal Building in downtown Akron after receiving a bomb threat.

Employees have been safely evacuated and roads in the area, including W. Market Street between Rand Street and Broadway, and S Main Street between MLK Boulevard and E Mill Street, have been closed to traffic.

The Akron Fire and Police Departments are investigating the threat and ask that the public avoid the area until further notice. Officials have stated that an unknown substance was located at the building, believed by authorities, to have been delivered by the bomb threat caller. A hazmat team has been requested to the scene.
