CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe City Council is expected to meet in regular session Monday, January 9.

Three items are listed on the agenda.

The first item up will be a third reading for a resolution “expressing cooperation and granting the use of a portion of Paint Street to Race Penguin, LLC for the Chillicothe Half Marathon.”

Council will also have a second reading of a proposed change to a city ordinance, amending the maximum height of grass and weeds within the city limits. This issue has been a concern for many residents, who have expressed frustration regarding overgrown lawns and properties in disrepair.

There will also be a second reading of an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter into a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) Agreement on behalf of the city. This agreement will allow for the construction of new wastewater facilities and will designate a dedicated repayment source for the loan.

A reminder that city council meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to participate.
