Margie A. Drake, 95, of Londonderry died Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 5, 1927 in Jackson to Otho and Audrey Wills. On April 10, 1948 she married the love of her life, the late Robert C. Drake.
Surviving are children, Robert M. (Shirley) Drake, Michael K. “Pat” (Joyce) Drake and Penny A. Drake all of Londonderry; grandchildren, Michelle (Steven Jackson) Drake, Jason (Jeane) Drake, Stephanie (Keith) Washburn, April (Shawn) Lunde and Aaron (Heather) Drake; great grandchildren, Sean Jackson, Kannon Strausbaugh, Noah Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Nicholas Washburn, Dalton Drake, Hudson Drake, Nathanial Washburn and Stetson Drake; great great grandchildren, Beckham Strausbaugh, Ellis Strausbaugh and Anthony Jackson; Sister, Bernadine Wilson of Jackson and brother in law, Donald “Red” Benson of Londonderry.
She was predeceased by sisters and brother-in-law, Pauline and Cecil Triplett, Phyllis Benson and Hugh Wilson.
Margie was a 1945 graduate of Jackson High School. She was a 60 year member of OES Chapter 419. Margie was a connoisseur of junk food, especially pizza and in particular black licorice. She enjoyed antiques and collecting Fenton glass. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. They share fond memories of shopping with her, watching the Cincinnati Reds on a small tv upstairs with rabbit ears, as well as her other favorite shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her life’s work provided generations of her family the opportunity to make it in a business that would be nearly impossible to start today. She was loved and will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, donations be made in Margie’s name to Liberty Township Fire and Rescue, 34568 U.S. Rt 50, Londonderry, Ohio 45647.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John Evans II officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 -7 p.m. on Saturday.
