Ted William Stanley, age 81 of Leesburg, passed away Friday evening January 13, 2023 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born November 9, 1941 in Washington County, Virginia, the son of the late Thomas Q. and Cora Beatrice (Latham) Stanley.
Mr. Stanley spent his entire working life as a truck driver, having worked for Bobb Brothers for seventeen years and R & L Carriers for nineteen years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Margaret A. (Miller) Stanley, whom he married on October 22, 1960 in Leesburg. He is also survived by five children, David Stanley of Washington Court House, Tom (Tonya) Stanley of Naples, Florida, Tabatha (Nick) Brown of Hillsboro, Brenda (Kenny) Wilson of Greenfield, and William (Angela) Stanley of Wilmington; twelve grandchildren, Alan, Cheryl, Tommy, Sierra, Sean, Nicholas, Chelsea, Amber, Maggie, Austin, McKenna and Kyler; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Rhoads of Hillsboro and Ella Mae Whitaker of Damascus, Virginia; a brother, Thomas Stanley of Wilmington; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg. Joy Stanforth will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
